Built as a planetarium in the 1920s, the building was used as a concert hall after WWII (as »Rheinhalle«). Maybe it's apt then that one of the major Dark Stars was performed and recorded there. Refurbishment took place in the mid 70s and since 1978 it's known as Tonhalle. Nowadays it's primarily a place for classical music.
